Our Story

Founded in 2018 as The Approachable Accountant, the firm was built on a simple idea: tax advice should be both professionally sound and personally accessible

Like many small professional practices, the firm experienced the usual growing pains. Combined with a period of truly unexpected and challenging circumstances, those pressures gradually pulled the practice away from its original vision. 

As we approach the 2026 tax season, Beyond Compliance Tax & Advisory returns to that founding purpose—with renewed focus, refined systems, and the resources to deliver on it fully. The result is a practice that values clarity over volume, relationships over transactions, and thoughtful guidance over shortcuts.

Our Pricing Philosophy

Most of the work we do involves complex tax returns, and our pricing reflects the level of analysis, compliance, and support required—while remaining transparent and predictable.


Our CORE tax preparation fee of $695 includes, when applicable:

  • Schedule A (itemized deductions)
  • One long-term rental property
  • A low-activity side hustle or Schedule C business
  • 1–2 brokerage accounts
  • In most cases, the sale of a primary residence
  • 1-2 state returns


Additional notes:

  • Established rental properties are billed at a lower rate than in prior years.
  • New rental properties require a one-time setup fee to properly establish depreciation and compliance.


Our fees are highly competitive with most local firms as well as retail and online tax preparers. Don’t be fooled by the advertised “get started” price!

Simple Returns (Flat-Fee Service)

For clients with straightforward tax situations, we offer a flat-fee tax preparation service designed for efficiency and clarity.


Flat Fee: $495

A “simple return” generally includes:

  • 5–6 IRS information documents (W-2, 1099, 1098)
  • Itemized deductions (Schedule A)
  • Child Tax Credit and Other Dependent Credit
  • Credit for Child and Dependent Care Expenses
  • IRA and 529 plan contributions
  • Social Security income

This service does not include:

  • Self-employment or small business activity
  • Rental property or other real estate activity
  • Retirement income other than Social Security
  • Brokerage or investment accounts
  • K-1 income
  • Sale of a primary residence

If your situation falls outside these parameters, we are happy to discuss the appropriate service level to ensure your return is prepared carefully and completely.


Business Returns

Business Returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065) start at $850 for new clients and only rarely exceed $1,000.

Our Process (What to Expect)

Our process is designed to reduce friction, eliminate unnecessary back-and-forth, and move your return forward efficiently:

  • You will complete a smart organizer that uses conditional logic to collect only the information relevant to your situation.
  • Supporting documents can be uploaded securely through the portal at any time.
  • Your return enters active preparation only after the organizer is submitted, even if documents have already been uploaded.
  • While there are no hard deadlines for submitting materials, delays in providing complete information may affect turnaround time and filing order.


Clients who follow the process consistently experience faster completion and fewer follow-up questions. The portal is your central hub—and the best way to keep your return moving smoothly.



Engagement & Communication


Your engagement with Beyond Compliance Tax & Advisory begins upon receipt of payment and acceptance of the Letter of Engagement. That agreement outlines:

  • The scope of services provided
  • Client and firm responsibilities
  • Communication expectations
  • Billing terms and limitations


We encourage all clients to review the Letter of Engagement carefully and reach out with any questions before proceeding. Transparency and alignment up front lead to better outcomes for everyone.
